The Story Behind Chanel’s Interlocking C Logo
The legendary logo of Chanel with duplication of the letter C was first printed on the bottle of perfume Chanel №5 in 1925. Soon after, the logo appeared on everything that was created by the brand. Throughout the history of fashion, there were several versions of the logo’s origin, the most common is the first letter of the name C of the designer Chanel, such as with other designers.
But recently on the official website of the brand was revealed the real mystery of the appearance of the logo. The double letter C in the logo was inspired by a stained glass window in the chapel inside the Aubazine monastery, where children from the shelter in which Coco Chanel lived for several years went.
